DHL NACRA 7s - Day 2 Results
Guyana Men claimed the Caribbean Men's Sevens title for the 6th time and the Canadian Maple Leafs won the Women's DHL NACRA Sevens Championship, with Jamaica Women winning the Caribbean Championship.
Guyana won the DHL NACRA Sevens for men, defeating Cayman Islands 29-0 in wet and muddy conditions at the Garrison Savannah in Barbados. Torrential rain throughout Saturday and muddy conditions on Sunday made playing an expansive running game difficult for all teams. Cayman were the surprise team who adapted their game plan well to the conditions, though eventually lost to a superior and stronger Guyanese team, who had recently participated in the PANAM Games in Mexico. In the Women's tournament the Canadian development team, the Maple Leafs, were too strong for all, running out 38-0 winners over Jamaica, the latter being crowned caribbean Champions. Trinidad and Tobago took the Men's plate, USA South the Men's Bowl and recent new NACRA Member, Turks & Caicos Islands, the Shield. Guyana took the Plate in the Women's tournament with Trinidad & Tobago coming 3rd.
