DHL Named as 2011 NACRA Sevens Title Sponsor

DHL and NACRADHL have been named as the lead and title sponsor of the 2011 NACRA Sevens (see their commercial here). The tournament, known now as the "2011 DHL NACRA Sevens" takes place in Bridgetown, Barbados on November 12th & 13th 2011 and features for the first time, representation from all of NACRA's Members.

In the Men's competition, Guyana will be defending their title for the 5th time, having won the Caribbean Sevens Championships on the previous 4 occassions. The Guyanese team should be in fine form enetring the tournament, since they will have just returned from the PANAM Games in Mexico. However, they will face stiff opposition from an ever improving Jamaican team who were unlucky to win the tournament in 2010 and from Trinidad & Tobago and Bahamas who continue to impress at the shortened game.

Curacao will be fielding a team in the NACRA Sevens for the first time and the tournament sees the return of USA South, who on their last outing in the event finished a creditable 4th. With Mexico, Cayman and Bermuda all showing signficant improvements in recent years, courtesy of well developed youth programmes, each of the 4 pools in the men's tournament will be hotly contested.

Men's Pool A: Guyana, St Lucia, BVI, Curaco

Men's Pool B: Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Turks & Caicos

Men's Pool C: Mexico, Cayman, Bermuda, USA South

Men's Pool D: Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago, Guadeloupe, St Vincent & The Grenedines

In the Women's tournament Trinidad & Tobago will want to avenge their 14-12 defeat to Guyana in the 2010 sevens, though will face strong opposition not only from Guyana, but also from Jamaica and an ever improving St Lucian team. However, the main threat may well come from the Maple Leafs, a Canadian representaive team and USA South, both of which are participating in the tournament for the 1st time

Women's Pool A: Guyana, St Lucia, Mexico, USA South, Barbados

Women's Pool B: T&T, Jamaica, Cayman, Maple Leafs, St Vincent & The Grenadines, Guadeloupe
