Trinidad & Tobago 48 Cayman Islands 0

Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) retain their Women's Caribbean Championship Trophy with a sound 48-0 victory over the Cayman Islands, while Barbados secure their first Women's international 15 a-side vitory with a 49-0 win over St Vincent & The Grenadines.

Trinidad & Tobago 2009 WinnersBoth Cayman and T&T started hesitantly, unusually not deciding to use their talented back lines where most of their success during the earlier part had been gained. T&T eventually prised open the Cayman defence after 15 minutes when Kwaneize John scored in from t of the posts and Julianna Straker converted. Further tries from Tramaine Andrews and Kaleisha Delpeche, the latter being converted by Straker opened up a 19-0 half team. Cayman depsite some good pressure from their forwards close to the T&T line could towards the end of the first half not narrow the gap going into the interval.

T&T soon got quickly into their stride in the second half and looked to use Straker and Kwaneize John wherever possible, with Merlin Blackford looking dangerous whenever she ran at the Cayman defence.  2009 Caribbean Champions T&T

Further tries from Ebony Young, Latoya Young, a second for Delpeche, Dalia Jordon Brown, Abigail  Roberts and a conversion each fro  Straker and Blackford rounded off a convincing 48-0 victory for T&T, as they retained their Caribbean Championship trophy.

In the final match of the tournament, home team Barbados gave the spectators something to cheer with a comprehensive 49-0 win over an injury depleted St. Vincent & The Grenadines team. Karen Holmes was the star of the show scoring 4 tries and 2 conversions, with Danielle Phillips, Cherice Hart, Dara Watts also going over for tries and Sophie Bannister scoring a brace.
